Talhaearn is one of five poets mentioned by Nennius in the Ninth Century Historia Brittonum. He is said to have lived in the Sixth Century along with the other four : Aneirin, Taliesin, Bwlchfardd and Cian. Only Aneirin and Taliesin are associated with surviving poems but Talhaearn was said to be 'Tad Awen' (Father of the Muse) so presumably the chief of them.
